A classification of Abies Miller (Pinaceae) Naturalis
Farjon, A.; Rushforth, K.D..
Previous classifications of the genus Abies are reviewed and evaluated. A number of subgeneric names are lectotypified and a list of the validly named subgeneric taxa is given. A new classification scheme is proposed in which Abies is divided into ten sections, four of which are further divided into subsections. Three new subsectional names are proposed. A key to the sections and subsections is given and their morphological characteristics and biogeography discussed.

De botanische betekenis van enkele oude leemkuilen op de Blaricumer Heide en de Tafelbergheide in het Gooi Naturalis
Farjon, A..
In the heath between Blaricum, Huizen and Bussum (het Gooi, province of Noord-Holland, the Netherlands) are some old pits, where farmers long ago mined loam and loamy sand. In these pits a grassy vegetation, rich in species and unique for the Netherlands, has developed. Due to severe recreational pressure there is now much erosion and an extensive degradation of the vegetation. The author stresses the need for better protection and well-planned management.

Een nieuwe groeiplaats van de Pilvaren (Pilularia globulifera L.) in de Nederlandse duinen Naturalis
Farjon, A.; Wallnöfer, B..
Until now Pilularia globulifera was restricted, as far as it concerns its coastal distribution, to a few localities on the island of Terschelling. Recently, a tiny population was discovered in the non-calcareous dunes near Schoorl (prov. Noord-Holland). The plants grow in a shallow pool together with Littorella uniflora and Scirpus setaceus.

Over de oecologie en de verspreiding van Mibora minima (L.) Desv. in West-Europa, in het bijzonder in Nederland Naturalis
Farjon, A.; Mennema, J..
Since publication of the distribution map of Mibora minima in the Atlas of the Netherlands Flora¹, several new localities of this rare species have been added to the ones previously known. Some of them are from the coastal dunes, where M. minima is growing in (semi-)natural environments, and one is from a former railroad-yard in the south of the province of Limburg. Thusfar the main localities appeared to be associated with tree nurseries. The opinion that the species was introduced into the Netherlands from nurseries abroad, seems to be incorrect, also, because the first record in the Netherlands, from 1825, is from a dune area. On account of ecological and distributional data of M. mibora from other Western European countries, it is concluded that the...
